About the Author
Jennifer Barrette: A Life of Creativity and Getting Real
Jennifer is an artist, a creator, and an endlessly curious writer with a
passion for middle-grade fiction. Now in her mid-50s, she’s ready to
share the wisdom she’s gathered along the way.
Growing up surrounded by books, sketchpads, and paintbrushes, Jennifer
developed a lifelong love for creating stories and art. Her early career saw
her designing everything from furniture to homes and painting massive murals
that brought spaces to life. But when a neck injury clipped her
ladder-climbing wings, Jennifer didn’t stop creating—she
pivoted. She began illustrating books, which opened the door to editing, and
eventually, she discovered her passion for writing books, developing
characters and fantastical worlds for them to live in.
As the Vice President of Transmedia Entertainment, Jennifer is more than
just a writer. She’s a world-builder, shaping stories that leap from
page to screen, creating experiences that captivate across platforms. Now,

self-help, offering practical tools and heartfelt advice to tackle
